ICE® Construction System Toolkit Training
Course Curriculum Overview

PURPOSE:  To teach the mechanics and inner workings of the ICE Construction Systems.  Specifically, this course will teach the Construction System Toolkits, which allows ICE users to modify and/or create new Construction Systems.   This training focuses on both the theory of how to use the toolkits as well as the application of the theory through "hands-on" workshop time.  This is an advanced class and should only be attended by experienced users who meet the qualifications outlined in the prerequisites.  All students should come prepared with a list of desired changes as well as a copy of their current knowledge base files.  This class will last three full days beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at 4:30 PM with one-hour break for lunch.

PREREQUISITES: 
Completion of ICE Estimating Basic Course.
Proficient in the ICE Estimating System.
A list of desired changes to be made to their knowledge base.

Administrative

  • Setup Company Standards
  • Adding Rate Pricing Codes
  • Importing Sort Code and Rate Data
  • Customizing Crews
  • Mechanics of Waste Factors and Form Uses
  • Setup the Unit Price Catalog
  • Importing data into a Unit Price Catalog (UPC)

Construction System Toolkit

  • Developing Pricing Items
  • Overview of Construction Systems
  • Introduction of Basic Terms, Definitions, and Formulas
  • Explanation of the design process for Construction Systems
  • Summary of the Tool Bar menu options
  • Building a simple Construction System*
  • Modifying a Construction System
  • Definition of advanced terms and formulas
  • Presentation of advanced Construction System Toolkit functions
  • How to test and merge new Construction Systems

Construction System Workshop

  • Review the design process for developing construction systems
  • Open discussion with customers to determine desired application for construction systems
  • Hands-on application of construction system training to customers needs

ICE® Wizard Toolkit Training
Course Curriculum Overview
